Dr Iris H. Casteren van Cattenburch, associate researcher at GovernEUR – Erasmus University Rotterdam, and independent communications strategist at CvC.
I am an enterprising scholar, inspired by family, friends and colleagues, ancient and early modern writers, philosophers, historians and every other artist pursuing the quest of life. I am intrigued by the vast possibilities of technology and biology and concerned with the human dimension of changing space. I think, write and speak on the reciprocity between sustainability and the arts.
Iris earned a PhD in Shakespeare and sustainability from Utrecht University (2015), which underpins the learning method ‘Shakespeare Applied for Sustainable Decision-making’. Research focus areas: hermeneutics, narrative ethics, sustainability, action-based learning; sensemaking, organizational symbolism and learning; organizational narratives and scenario-thinking.
Communication expertise: complex force field analysis, strategic communication, boardroom advice, in-depth interviewing, stakeholder communication, participatory processes methods, speech writing.
